MY MINIATURE CABINET

The Kitchen
This is a typical Italian kitchen with spaghetti boiling in the pot, the coffee percolator ready to go and the ‘pizzelle’ maker otherwise known as waffles in English. The calendar on the front of the fridge was made in 2009 when I first started the cabinet and has a picture of  ‘Il Castello Ducale di Crecchio’, the beautiful castle where my father was born in Crecchio, Abruzzo. A packet of fusilli pasta, Bertoli extra virgin olive oil, an Italian cookbook complete the scene. The tile above the fridge reads “Pace e Bene’ which means Peace and Love purchased in Assisi, Italy where St Francis preached a gospel of peace and love. These tiles can be found all over Assisi in all sizes. And no Italian kitchen would be complete without hanging garlic and Nutella! The last photo is before the change.
